Time for a "Coffee" Break

I am new to this whole Company Girl Coffe Break thing but I am having a blast figuring it out and exploring everything! So, as I sit here with my drink of choice (right now Ice Water), I realize how much I love just kicking back and checking in with others!

I absolutely love this time of year and of course I LIVE for Christmas! The cool, crisp air seems to energize me and the excitiment that I see in my children rejuvenates me! With the economy this yer, we've tried to shop "responsibly" and shop early so that we're not stuck at the end, giving our arms, legs, and home for something that the kids wanted. I'm excited to start an interactive Nativity with my family this weekend. It is called What God wants for Christmas. You open up a new box to it every night for seven days. There are devotional questions that go along with it. Our Children's minister gave it to me last year for Christmas and I've been waiting almost a year to dive in. I think my kids are really going to love it, especially my 7 year old daughter!

I vowed that I was going to try not to get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season this year and enjoy every moment that I could. So far, I think we're doing pretty good. Friday nights are usually our "family game night" but tonight we've decided to "go on the road" and see a movie. Of course, as of 30 minutes ago, we had at least 4 different opinions as to what we want to see (we only have 4 people in our family!) Yikes! We will somehow, diplomatically come up with a solution and be off to have a great, relaxing time as a family.

I hope that all of you will take time to relax, enjoy, worship the one for the season, and hug someone that you haven't in a while! It will make everyone feel a little better! Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to Company Girl Coffee. I hope you enjoyed your movie and are able to keep your holiday simple this year.

I'm so glad you've invited us for coffee and a chance to visit. I'm wondering what movie you all settled upon. It's hard finding something suitable for everyones taste. I let "the boys" do James Bond without me, even though I love a good supense/chase movie. I have a friend that I see the chick movies with and that lets my man off the hook for most of them. :)

Thanks for having us over. I will pass on your ice water (brrr! but so good for you) and grab a mug of something HOT! :) Your blog is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I hope your family had a nice movie night out last night! Enjoy the season!

Hi, Gayla!

You are right...we must enjoy the season, take time to rest, relax and always worship the One!

I must say, after reading your lovely blog, I feel like having a cup of coffee and taking a break. (I am not a company girl...and am just starting to see the "tags" for it. I'll have to check it out.)

I hope you get your cookies made this evening. But mostly, enjoy your daughter's performance today!

Warm blessings!

Thank you for opening up your blog and being so hospitible! I have brought a thermos of coffee, so I'm good to go. ;-)
Is the interactive nativity something like an advent calendar? That used to be one of my absolute favorite parts of Christmas when I was a little girl!

Thanks for the invite! We try to give each person a week where it is their week to choose. I don't know if that helps or not.

Gayla,
Yes, that is like an advent calendar. It's the same concept - counting down the days to the "advent" of Jesus. When I was little we had ones that started on Dec 1, so we had 25 days to count down the days till Christmas!
The one I grew up with was just a poster that had little flaps you'd open to read a portion of the Christmas story.

WOW! Welcome to Company Girls! Isn't it fun?! Wish we were done shopping. Chris and I will finish up next weekend. But we are still staying pretty much on budget. Guess it will REALLY be within budget if there's nothing left at the stores. ;-)

Welcome! Our greatest memories of Christmas are the ones we learned as children with our families. What a wonderful tradition you've begun.
The more simple - the more GOD's light shines in.

I love the nativity idea. We've been thinking about giving a special nativity to our son and daughter-in-law. This would be a special way to give it to them next year.
