The Week Around Our House - Anybody need a cup of coffee??

Hello everyone! Thanks for dropping by! I don't have too much to talk about today except for....well, my kids! I think I could talk about them, ALL the time!
Let's start with Jonathon! It seems as though I have been saying often, "A different day, a different drama!" Middle School has sure brought with it some challenges! It has been fun to watch Jonathon enter this stage of his life (I didn't say easy, but fun). I see him daily trying to figure out WHO he is. He's had his share of "lectures" and asked me this week the funniest question (I thought)..here is how the conversation went:
(In reference to an assignment that he had known about for 5 weeks but decided to begin TWO days before it was due)

J - "I don't think we see eye to eye on this Mom".
Me - "No, I'm thinking we don't."
J - "When will we see eye to eye?"
Me - "MMmmmmm....about 8 - 10 years from now probably"
J- "Oh, grrreeeeeaaattt!
Well, at least we can agree on SOMETHING right now....he's right.....we don't see eye to eye very often these days but at the end of MOST days, he still kisses me good-night.
This was a busy week for Clarissa. On Tuesday we began Phase 1 of her orthodontic work. Her spacers were put in and within the next two weeks she'll have her top expander in place. I dreaded starting this so bad. In fact, I tore off all of my nails Tuesday in anticipation! However, she did great and has such a good attitude about starting this process. Wednesday she went on a field trip to the Windmill Museum and what a day to go! I think the winds were around 30 mph that day. She was quick to tell me "Frankly, I didn't like it!". Then today, she was Artemis. Her class has been studying Greek mythology and she gave her presentation this morning. I was able to slip away from my school and go and watch her and what a blessing it was. Clarissa has had some struggles (educationally and with speech) but she does not EVER let that get her down. She is such a hard worker and I was so proud of her this morning. I even have a few pictures to share.Although busy, I'm sure glad the weekend is here. EIGHT more weeks of of school but who's counting?
Happy Friday!!!!

Artemis is beautiful!! Nothing like a little dress-up to make learning a little more fun.

The middle school and high school years were among my favorites. Yeah, they have their awful moments, but it is so great to see the kids really start becoming who they will be. They are so funny and interesting at that age.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Nothing is more overwhelming that seeing your struggling child press forward with joy. She's getting so big.

I'm glad to hear that Mark isn't the only one who waits until the last minute. He drives me crazy that way. And every time I think "this will be the time that teaches him", he still ends up with an A!

Oh how I can relate to the middle school madness. I've been so delighted lately as the Lord has opened up some neat opportunities for me and my girl to have some sweet time together. I think it's a difficult time as they are trying to figure it all out.

I agree with Rachel Anne, Artemis is beautiful. Looks like she had lots of fun and did a spectacular job too. Way to go!

I look foreward to stopping by again!

I know...can't wait to see eye-to-eye. I'll have more than 8-10 years to go. There's always those moments that makes you proud though. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
